It leads me to believe it may have actually been a mechanic to encourage only using conveyor belts you absolutely need and to discourage any excess. My system was pretty consistent, even at intersections or where things get tight or crisscross, there was always a natural way to make things work. I would seperate conveyor belts by placing them at the furthest ends that a product would line up with as it traveled and using the minimal number of conveyors, only getting more specific as I needed to. I did end up using a work around, as I similarily never quite learned how priority works. I guess I just kept doing trial-and-error whenever it caused a problem. I played all the way through to the point it adds the painting tools and I never understood that. I did really appreciate his explanation of how blocks react differently to multiple belt movements depending on their cardinal direction. I'd think you'd only be worried about beating the best results, not comparing yourself to the average. I'd guess that the average player simply didn't care much about optimization at all. I'm not even sure why he cared about this. But that was a fun thing to figure out, it's not hard to figure out, and it doesn't change the fact that the histograms are accurately portraying what users did. One major point is that the histograms are essentially wrong because so many players didn't understand this one simple trick to lowering the number of parts. That was pretty interesting, but devoting so much time to histograms (and some other minutiae) was a bit weird. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
